Bridge Size Playing Cards(3D Printing)
For bridge size playing cards, lenticular 3D printing introduces a different set of trade-offs than it does for poker decks. The bridge format is typically selected to allow players to hold more cards comfortably in hand. Once the card becomes thicker and more rigid due to the lenticular lens, that original advantage begins to diminish.
This is why lenticular bridge decks are generally associated with promotional or commemorative uses rather than traditional trick-taking gameplay.

Card Layout & Artwork Setup
Artwork setup is not a visual step — it defines how tolerant the deck is in production.
Most alignment issues are not printing defects. They come from layout decisions made too early, before production limits are considered.
Thin borders, centered frames, or front-to-back positional matching all reduce tolerance. Even normal cutting variation becomes visible under these conditions.
These problems rarely show in the first sample. They appear later — during full production or repeat runs.

Layout determines tolerance.
Full bleed hides variation. Centered layouts reveal it.
Most “misaligned cards” complaints come from border design, not printing accuracy.
Custom 3D Printing Bridge Cards
Bridge cards are built to stay easy in hand, even when players are holding a large number at once. Once lenticular construction is added, that advantage starts to drop off. The cards get thicker, the deck gets stiffer, and handling stops feeling natural very quickly, especially in games where players keep fanning, sorting, and re-reading cards over long sessions.
The bridge format also leaves less room for the effect to hide its own problems. The layout area is narrower, so suit marks, numbers, and corner information are already working in a tighter space. Once motion or depth is added through the lenticular surface, quick recognition usually gets worse, not better. That problem rarely shows in a digital file. It starts showing only when the sample is in hand and the deck is being used like a real game deck.
From the production side, the format is less forgiving as well. The artwork still has to register cleanly against the lens, and on a narrow bridge card there is less room to hide small movement. Once the whole deck still needs to play like a normal bridge deck, lenticular usually makes more sense on a few special cards than across the full set. Once gameplay speed and hand comfort matter, this structure usually starts working against the job.
